Monday Musings. Labor Day Version.

Why is it that, while Labor Day is celebrated as a national holiday from labor, so many of us labor on Labor Day?  I actually didn't have much time to muse this past week - and sometimes that's a good thing, as Martha likes to say.

My Labor Day:

So, any of you sitting back with your feet up, iced tea in hand, bon bons at the ready?

Nah, I'm not a chocolate kinda gal. But I would sit with my feet up, iced tea in hand!

Love all your pictures! Love 'em. That garlic! Holey moley, what bee-yew-tiful garlic!

I spent the last two days working! Painted the kitchen Saturday, and planted the fall garden yesterday, a little early since I got heat exhaustion within an hour of starting :p Spent today cleaning up the house and covering fall garden from the sun!!!! Feet up, bon bons, and iced tea sound pretty good to me!

Yah-good one.
Three loads laundry, washed-hung out-folded-put away
Lawn mowed
Garden weeded
3 meals cooked/cleaned up
Deck hosed off
Neighbors yelled at.(sigh)
I'm heading out for a frosty beverage, and it's NOT iced tea.

I'm just curious . . . what did you yell at the neighbors??

Why did you have to mention bon...bons? Now, I have bon bons on the brain, darn you....LOL....
No relaxing today, work, work, work.
You've been pretty busy yourself today.
Those are some really great looking vegetables harvested from your garden.
What did you can in those pictures above? Salsa?
Now I'm on a mission to find bon bons :-)

I did projects for 2 days, then today washed the car, did laundry, went and saw MIB3 (funny!). Made dinner, relaxed... How's your sick sheep sweetie?

And you should HAVE bon bons!

I think that you and I would have iced tea in one hand and a bag of potato chips in the other! Ain't that garlic purty? It (and tomatoes) are my only real crop this year.

Yikes! Heat exhaustion can be dangerous - be careful! I bet your bon bons would melt before you could eat them! Hope things cool down.

That can get on your one raw nerve. I yell at my neighbors, but they can't hear me over the din of the heavy equipment...

Oooh, sorry, Sandy! BON BONS...heehee. I did can a lot of salsa this year - I ate ALL of last year's. I tried two different recipes just to 'spice' it up.

Not much - there are tons, but they are all on my other neighbor's property and 30 feet up in the trees. I need permission AND a ladder. I think I'll just make some juice and freeze it - and look for more grapes. And I can blame it all on you...

Flora is perking along, Nancy - thank you for asking. I just monitor her every day and go from there. I loved MIB and MIB2 - I will put 3 on my Netflix list! Thanks for reminding me -- I need to clean nose prints/smears off my car windows...

I so agree. Even in labor day we do labors. I think because its the only day we could do our chores without the hassle of our jobs. Thanks for the inspiring photos.
